How to Book Car Service by the Hour in Greater Boston

Prepare the itinerary in order

Start at the first pickup and finish at the final drop-off. Give a full address for each stop, the time you need to arrive and how long the visit may last. Include loading, walking and any planned break. Tell the reservation team which appointments are fixed and which can move.

1. Confirm the local date, pickup entrance and traveler contact.
2. List every stop in the intended order.
3. Describe passengers, luggage and equipment.
4. Estimate waiting and the final release time.
5. Request a written confirmation of the route, hours and price.

Check the hourly rate and minimum

The published Mak Louren rates, checked October 23, 2026, list Business Sedan at $100 per hour and Business SUV at $125, with a three-hour minimum. First Class Sedan is $150 and First Class SUV $155, also with three-hour minimums. Business Van is $165 and Premium Stretch Limo $170, with four-hour minimums.

Hourly service includes up to fifteen miles per booked hour. Ask how mileage beyond the allowance is handled. Sedans and SUVs picked up within twenty miles of Boston do not incur extra positioning time under the published rates; further away, additional chauffeur travel time may apply. Van and limo positioning outside Boston may also apply.

Separate reserved waiting from extra time

Time spent between your appointments forms part of the reserved period. A meeting that runs beyond the booked finish can require additional time and availability; it is not automatically included. Confirm how extra time is calculated and who may authorize it.

A hypothetical four-hour Business Sedan booking has a $400 base hourly calculation. That arithmetic is not a final quote: itinerary, mileage, positioning and other applicable terms still matter. Gratuity is excluded and optional for sedans/SUVs; van and limo carry a twenty percent minimum.

Agree on changes before the day

Ask whether the proposed stops fit the allowance and hours. Clarify what happens if a meeting changes location, an additional traveler joins or the day ends later. Send amendments to the reservation team and obtain confirmation rather than assuming the chauffeur can extend indefinitely.

Read the current cancellation and amendment terms. A refundable cancellation may still involve the stated processing fee if payment has already been processed. Keep the booking reference and the person who can approve changes available.

Know when a transfer is simpler

For one journey, compare a point-to-point booking with reserving several hours. For multiple stops and uncertain waiting, discuss the complete day. A separately booked return does not necessarily retain the car between journeys.
