Public transit: Blue Line, Silver Line and ferry
Massport describes three MBTA connections to Logan: the Blue Line subway, the Silver Line 1 (SL1) bus and ferry service.3
- Blue Line. Ride to Airport Station, then take Massport’s free On-Airport Shuttle to the terminals. The Blue Line connects with the Orange Line at State Street and the Green Line at Government Center.3
- Silver Line 1 (SL1). Runs between South Station and every terminal curb, with a free transfer to the Red Line. Massport says SL1 is free for travelers going from the airport to downtown.3
- Ferry and water taxi. MBTA ferries serve Logan’s Water Transportation Dock. Massport lists the inter-harbor fare between downtown and the airport at $2.40. Boston Water Taxi runs on-demand trips by reservation. A free shuttle (Route 66) links the dock and the terminals.5
Transit works well with a carry-on. With several large suitcases, transfers and stairs become the main drawback.
Logan Express buses
Massport’s Logan Express runs from Back Bay, Braintree, Danvers, Framingham and Woburn directly to every terminal. At the four suburban locations you can park and ride. Massport lists parking at $7 a day and tickets at $9 each way when bought online, described as a limited-time offer, and kids ride free with a ticketed family member. From Back Bay, tickets are listed at $3 to the airport with a free ride back.4

Rideshare and taxi
Uber, Lyft and taxis drop off on the Departures (upper) level of your terminal, like any other car.6 Prices and wait times change with demand, which matters most for early-morning flights and bad weather. Massport also lists Uber Shuttle and Lyft Shuttle, which are shared, scheduled rides between Logan and Boston, Cambridge and Somerville.1
Private car service
